The Checklist

Five steps before your box goes in the post.

Step 1

Submit your order form first

Fill in the order form with what you're sending before you post anything — this means your delivery is already matched to your details when it arrives.

Step 2

Label each tape if you can

A number or name written on each tape helps keep everything organised, especially if you're sending a mixed box of formats.

Step 3

Pack with padding, in a sturdy box

Wrap each tape or use dividers so they can't knock against each other in transit. A well-padded box matters far more than an expensive one.

Step 4

Use tracked or insured postage

We'd always recommend this for anything irreplaceable. We can't be responsible for items lost in transit to us if sent without tracking or insurance.

Step 5

Double-check your count

Before sealing the box, check the number of tapes matches what you entered on the order form, so nothing gets missed.

A Few Things To Avoid

Small mistakes that are easy to avoid.

  • Don't rewind tapes before sendingIt adds unnecessary wear and makes no difference to how we process your order.
  • Don't try to force a jammed or stuck tapeIf a tape won't eject cleanly, leave it as is and let us know — see our guide on sticky shed syndrome if it's squealing or feels tacky.
  • Don't overfill the boxA bulging lid or a box that's too tight increases the risk of damage in transit. Use a slightly bigger box with more padding instead.

Questions

Packing & postage frequently asked questions.

Should I label my tapes before sending them?+
Yes, if possible. A simple number or name written on each tape, matching a note in your order, helps us keep everything organised and makes it easier to let you know if anything specific needs attention.
How should I package my tapes for posting?+
Use a sturdy box with padding around each tape, such as bubble wrap or scrunched paper, so tapes can't move around or knock against each other in transit. Avoid overfilling a box to the point the lid bulges or bends.
Should I send my tapes with tracked or insured postage?+
We'd always recommend it, especially for anything irreplaceable. We can't be responsible for items lost in transit to us if they're sent without tracking or insurance.
Do I need to rewind my tapes before sending them?+
No, there's no need. Rewinding adds unnecessary wear, and it makes no difference to how we process your order.
What should I include in the box along with my tapes?+
A note with your name and order reference is helpful, though not essential if you've already submitted the order form online, since we'll match your delivery to your order details.
